Saltwater Bloody Mary

May, 2018

Everyone has their secret recipe for a Bloody Mary, and yours will soon be this one, featuring José Andrés Tomate Frito and Cockles. The savory tomato sauce is the perfect base for adding flavor without weighing down the drink, and the cockles are a tender, flavorful finish that give it a taste of the sea.

From The Ultimate Brunch Guide.

Serves: 8
Prep Time: 5 minutes

½ cup José Andrés Tomate Frito
4 cups tomato juice
Juice, pulp and zest from 1 lemon and 1 lime
16 ounces vodka
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 can José Andrés Cockles
Lemon peels, for garnish
Celery sticks, for garnish

Mix together the tomato juice, the lemon and lime juice, pulp and skin, vodka, Tabasco sauce, Tomate Frito, celery salt, and the black pepper in a large pitcher until well combined. Pour into 8 glasses filled with ice. Skewer 4-5 cockles onto small toothpicks and rest on the top edges of each glass. Garnish each drink with a lemon peel and celery stick.
