Winter Restaurant Week has returned to Washington! Throughout the D.C.-area, José Andrés REvery spring, Washington, D.C. comes to life when the cherry blossoms bloom and at José Andrés Restaurants, we celebrate the arrival of the season with the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s Cherry Picks, a three week series of limited-time cocktails, dishes and desserts inspired by the iconic trees peak bloom.
As you sip Spanish wines from Jaleo’s special Restaurant Week selection, take At Jaleo, take a midday break on the patio with the Bikini de Espárragos Verdes, a grilled pan de cristal sandwich with green asparagus and manchego cheese, for the ultimate spring lunch.
At China Chilcano, explore several new dishes from Chef Will Fung, including the Short Rib Kushiyaki – grilled short rib skewers with purple corn glaze and ganbatte tare. And don’t miss the Hanamai Highball, that pairs Toki Japanese whiskey with ginger, yuzu.
Kick off the weekend early at Oyamel with an El Regalo – a seasonal Mezcal cocktail – and make sure to try the Aguachile de Remolacha, a beet-cured Japanese ono in a beet aguachile with pickled beets, avocado and tomatillo.
Escape chilly DC for the sunny At Zaytinya, begin your meal with a Protomagia Gin & Tonic, which pairs Rose Gin with Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic, and end with the Wild Cherry, a Valrhona chocolate dessert.
For our friends in Bethesda, Spanish Diner is preparing Pollo a la Catalana, a Catalan-style braised chicken with sherry wine, onions, carrots, and dried cherries. Don’t forget to pickup a box of Cherry Torrón to take home!
